BBC World Service - The Inquiry , April 2024 - Present
I am currently freelancing with BBC World Service, The Inquiry as a Researcher & Producer. I worked closely with the producer, in building ideas, researching into topics further - creating in depth briefs, locating global guests, conducting research calls, deciding who would be the best fit for the programme, organising and completing a number of recordings, fact-checking, background checks on guests, transcribing through Trint and helping in post production edits and scripts.
BBC Money & Work - Today & Wake Up To Money, July 2024 - November 2024
I have been a freelance Journalist with BBC Radio 5 Live's Wake Up To Money & BBC Radio 4's Today Programme for around 5 months. Both programmes I was specialising in finance and business news.
My work has allowed me to explore specialist topics in further detail. I have been able to find expert guests and build contacts in the business field. I complete in depth briefs for presenters, editing clips for shows, attend 2 daily meetings where I pitch my own ideas, and working closely in a team for audiences across the UK.
BBC Radio 4 - Cafe Hope, February 2024 - May 2024
I was previously a Researcher with BBC Radio 4, working on a new 26 part programme called Cafe Hope. Working across Season 1 and 2 of the show. I found relevant guests, conduct in depth research calls, wrote briefs for the presenter, supported the team during production and post production, and fact checked thoroughly.
For this first season - I co-produced each episode, and decided who would be a good fit and who wouldnt. I also booked studios across the UK and helped creating social media posts for BBC Radio 4's social media channels.
BBC Radio 5 Live, May 2023 - Present
I am currently a Freelance Journalist/Producer at BBC Radio 5 Live, working with both the Daytime and Drive team.
I have been working on the news and sport for both.
I have found guests for shows, researched into contents for briefs, wrote cues and question areas, edited audio on Highlander, and worked on Open Media. I have also rang contrib's and texters to come on the show, and completed 50-50 forms.
I completed the whole first hour of Nihal's show, on 12/06/23 - on my own. For Diabetes Awareness Day, I secured multiple interviews, completed a brief for each guest & wrote cue and questions.
BBC Studios, Rip Off Britain, May 2023
I worked for 2 weeks as a Researcher with BBC's Rip Off Britain. I looked further into potential story ideas, conducted case studies for research calls, collected evidence and further research on stories, wrote treatments, pitched ideas to the series producer and created a VT for the show.
BBC Radio Merseyside, April 2023 - Feb 2024
I am currently a Freelance Programme Planner and Reporter at BBC Radio Merseyside.
Eurovision 2023: Completed Research into stories, Co-presenting lives at the UKraine Rave & St George's Hall Opening Ceremony, Getting content for socials and pre-recording on PNG.
I have also worked on the Breakfast, Mid-Morning and Drive shows: finding stories and guests, writing scripts and cues, and using Dira Highlander for editing. I am also using Open Media daily, finding audio clips on BBC Audio Archive and learning to use the studios & radio equipment to record voxes with the public, and my own pre-records. I also have experience as a Journalist Co-ordinator, answering phone calls from the public, using Bionic and Scheduler and working closely with the producer and presenter during the output of a show.
BBC Studios: Morning Live, January 2023 - March 2023
I started as a Researcher for BBC's Morning Live in January 2023. I have researched into film contents, generated ideas in group meetings, called contributors for research calls & working closely with both the director and edit team. I've also completed background checks on contributors, finding and clearing archive material through Jupiter and BBC Archive Services, fact-checked scripts and assisted on interview sets.

ITV 1 (Multistory), August 2022 - October 2022
I completed a weeks work experience at Multi Story Media. I was then invited back and taken on as a Freelance Junior Researcher for the documentary team in Media City.
I worked on 2 historical documentaries that will air in 2023 (The Real Stonehouse, 5th January 2023 and The Real Nolly, 2nd February 2023) - where I have been assisting in findings locations for interviews, discovering potential interviewees and transcribing interviews.
I have also been a Junior Research for the Queen Elizabeth II: A Nation Remembers, which aired on Monday 19th September 2022. I assisted in extensive fact checking for the program.
ITV 1 (Tonight), August 2022
I completed a weeks work experience for ITV Tonight. I helped research and find contributors for two episodes (Cost of Living and Grandparents Rights). I also completed background checks on contributors, organised equipment to be sent to locations, attended meetings and worked in teams.
Reach PLC, May 2022
After successfully completing three different interview stages, I was accepted on to the Reach PLC Talent Pool Scheme for aspiring journalists. I have completed freelance work for Cheshire Live. My articles are listed below.
Liverpool Echo, April 2022
During my weeks work experience at the Liverpool Echo I published multiple articles from my own ideas and ideas given to me by the team, Interviewed a number of people, Gathered vox pops and pictures of the public for stories. I also worked with the editors and attended meetings. I received positive feedback and will be returning for more work experience in the future. Read my articles below.
Liverpool Live Radio, January 2022 - April 2022
I had the opportunity to produce, vision mix, feature on shows and find stories to report on. Writing and creating social media content for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Contacting guests to appear on shows, and live-streaming to Facebook.
MancMuse, January 2022 - March 2022
I wrote a number of reviews for MancMuse, these included bottomless brunch, restaurants, bars and cafes around Manchester.
Protect ED, December 2021
I wrote a blog post for Protect ED about mental health and university lifestyle. This opportunity has allowed to expand and broaden my writing ability.
Asian Media Awards, 29th October 2021
I was lucky enough to be chosen to be a part of the team covering the Asian Media Awards 2021, as the University of Salford as in partnership with the event. I was the main camera operator, getting footage from inside the event - which allowed me to film reactions, speeches and nominees. This allowed me to also further advance my knowledge on the Panasonic AC-90 camera.
Salford City Radio, September 2021 - December 2021
Volunteering at Salford City Radio has allowed me to expand and enhance my skills and knowledge of the industry. I have featured on shows, worked behind the scenes on Logging to upload shows to the station, as well as updating the station's Facebook page weekly. We also attended the IGNITION Hackathon where we completed workshops, pitched ideas to professionals on how to improve the environmental aspects around Greater Manchester and represented the radio station.
Florrie Radio April 2021 - August 2021
My volunteering at Florrie Radio offered me an opportunity to gain leadership skills, confidence skills and further my knowledge of the radio industry. We created many new playlists for the station to provide the city of Liverpool with the newest updated music from smaller artists around the city.
Salford Now & Quays News, September 2019 - May 2022
During my time at University, I had the opportunity to develop a variety of journalism skills, including working in a live news room multiple times a week. I have created journalistic work including; TV, Radio and Online Packages for both news outlets Salford Now and Quays News. I had the opportunity to increase my confidence through presenting shows, learn new roles such as: Radio Tech, Presenter, Producer and Co-Producer, Reporter, Trending Reporter, Bulletin Editor, Graphic Editor and Sound Editor. I learnt how to edit using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition, as well as learning how to use Highlander and iNews. I have worked in teams and independently on many projects throughout my time at University.
